The Holy Spirit

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

This is a teaching on the Holy Spirit and in order to receive the fullness of Him, we have to learn who He is. We need to know what He is all about and why He is in this world today working out the plan of the Father and the Son (Jesus Christ). He is the 3rd person of the Trinity and He has a mission to fulfill right here on earth. God is not into religion but into relationships with His children. Everything in these teachings is based on biblical scriptures and not on man’s interpretation.

Many churches today believe that healings, miracles and the gifts of the Holy Spirit ended when the apostles died. In other words it petered out with Peter. Really? My question would be, how did they come up with that conclusion since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever according to the bible in Hebrews 13:8. The word of God does not change and is the same as it always has been throughout the generations, including this one. Everything that is written in the bible, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through men, is the truth. God Himself by divine inspiration (2Ti. 3:16) had men write down His truth so we could live our lives with the knowledge of what is right and wrong. God wanted us to have the knowledge of what works and what does not work in our daily lives.

To continue with this teaching we will be going into scriptures explaining all about the purpose of the Holy Spirit and how to receive Him and the gifts and fruits He gives us. Receiving Him is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit and there are 9 gifts and 9 fruits. We have experienced these gifts and fruits and have been called of God to teach the body of Christ so they can live the abundant life, which He promises us (John 10:10).

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT ?

The Holy Spirit is a person but He is not in the natural realm where He can be seen. He operates in the spiritual realm and is the 3rd person of what we call the Trinity, meaning three in one. The Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit are one but are three separate individuals. The Holy Spirit has a purpose and a job to complete just like Jesus, who had to die on the cross for our sins, so we could be saved from destruction and be forgiven for all the things we have done wrong.

You will not be able to understand Him with your mind because the spirit realm is not seen with our natural eyes and therefore not understood with our natural minds. Faith is what activates our heart into accepting something we do not see and yet for some reason we believe it. There is outward evidence of salvation once you accept Jesus and you begin to change and walk away from the things that you know are wrong and unpleasing to God. It is the same with the Holy Spirit. There are outward signs that will happen for the believer and once you connect with Him you become certain that He is real and not just something out of your imagination. Your heart will know the truth and you will begin to step into the spirit realm and see just how real it is.

Your life will never be the same again and you will be thankful that the God of this universe called you by name and chose you to house His Holy Spirit. There is only one way to receive His Spirit and that is through Jesus Christ who told us in John 16:7 that the Comforter (Holy Spirit) would not come unless He departed and He would send Him to us.

Let us take a moment to look at how powerful the Holy Spirit actually is. If He, the Holy Spirit, comes into my human spirit there must be some way we can feel Him or know when He is trying to speak or motivate us. Throughout the bible we can see over and over again how the Holy Spirit’s power came upon men (mankind) and manifested His presence. Once again this is where religion steps in because of lack of knowledge they claim the supernatural manifestation of God through man no longer exists in today’s world. It is happening and would happen much more if we would realize that the Spirit has not changed and according to the word of God is pouring out upon mankind in an even greater way before Christ returns. We are entering the last days and evil knows his days are numbered so he’s seeking whom he may devour. We have to get with the program and up our level of knowledge and connect to God or we will fall by the way side and be consumed by the lies of the devil.

The power of God can be so powerful that we can actually be knocked off of our feet. When His presence is upon us we can even stagger as if we are drunk. Drinking, getting drunk and being merry is accepted by the world as we act like fools staggering to the bathroom so we can get sick. If we have a good time in church with some joy and excitement we are considered weird. I would much rather be high in the Holy Spirit than high on drugs or alcohol. When they received the Holy Spirit in the Bible they were accused of being drunk in Acts 2:13. They must have been having a great time, don’t you agree? In Kings 8:10-11 it says the priests could not stand because of the cloud because the Glory of the Lord had filled the house. We call this being slain in the Spirit. The power is so great our human bodies cannot even stand at times when the Holy Spirit is moving. When they came to take Jesus in John 18:6 Jesus said, “I am He”, and they all went backward and fell to the ground. Once again we witness the power of God and even though they were unbelievers the power was so great they could not stand but actually fell backward. In Rev. 1:17 John says that when he saw Him (Jesus) I fell at His feet as dead. We can again see the power knocking a human being down. If it happened back then it could still happen today. Just wanted to give a few examples of just how powerful the Holy Spirit is. We will definitely be entering into a realm that is most exciting and definitely not boring. If you want a purpose in your life the Holy Spirit will give you one.
